Great story, Shannon!! I think a lot of us can relate.

My willingness to ignore red flags has given men the green light to treat me like a doormat. Whoops. And here I thought it made me kind or loving.

I agree so much with this above line. We ignore (or deny) red flags maybe because we’re desperate for “love” and connection. We need to love ourselves, as we often hear, and stay away from or leave people who don’t actually fit into our lives, who don’t truly adore or value us enough.

We hear and see only what we want to hear and see, just because we might want h to do badly believe that this person is “the one”… at least until that point when the rose-colored glasses fall off our faces and we can no longer deny seeing the red flags. Been there; you’re not alone. Cheers!!
