Love this!!! Good read, to-the-point, bluntly honest and so true!!!

I compare your experience to mine of almost 20 years ago when I lost 80 pounds: I was inundated with people telling me how awesome/hot/fabulous I looked. Sometimes all the attention made me think, “Was I really that BAD looking when I weighed well over 200 pounds???” Apparently so.

But then I realize the “body normal" (the figure “they" expect us to have) for the Baby Boomers is smaller than the "normal" of today. So losing one-third of my body weight put me in the “normal size" (for someone born in the 60s) category, so yeah, I got it.

Just like the author said, out society is so very blatantly superficial. It’s unfortunate, though it is what it is. Like the author I would personally rather have friends and a S.O. relationship that is based on more than my outward appearance. This article points out at least one positive aspect of the pandemic, which is always nice to read. ☺
