Oh man, I can so empathize with this author!! I live in a small midwestern town and am surrounded by Trumpists. Back when life was “normal” I got so sick of — say, when I was at the local bar — listening to my neighbors bash Democrats and/or “socialist” programs (whicn many of them are now happily capitalizing on, with the stimulus relief money). Staying at home doesn’t bother me a bit … for a number of reasons, not having to hear those conversations being one of them.
